Privacy Policy

Effective 12 August 2026

COVE BY TAY & TAY PTY LTD (ABN 48 699 068 543), trading as Cove by Tay & Tay (Cove, we, us or our), is committed to respecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your Personal Information.

We manage Personal Information in accordance with this policy and, where applicable, the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). The APPs are available from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au/privacy/australian-privacy-principles.

What is Personal Information and why do we collect it?

Personal Information is information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable. It can include names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, order or booking details and some online identifiers.

At the date of this policy, our website is mainly informational. We do not offer customer accounts, a Cove-operated online order form or direct website payments. Limited technical information may still be processed through website hosting, security logs, cookies and embedded services such as maps, reviews or social media. This may include an IP address, browser or device type, pages viewed and the date and time of access.

If you contact us, or if we introduce website enquiries, bookings or ordering, we may collect information such as your name, email address, phone number, message, pickup or delivery details, items ordered, preferences, special instructions, payment status and feedback.

We may collect Personal Information directly from you by email, phone, social media, in person or through a future website form; automatically from your browser or device; and from a third-party ordering, booking, delivery or payment platform when it provides information to Cove.

We use Personal Information to respond to enquiries, provide and improve our services, manage future orders or bookings, process payments or refunds, operate and protect the website, maintain business records, comply with the law and send marketing where you have consented or the law otherwise permits. We do not sell or rent Personal Information. You can unsubscribe from marketing at any time using the method in the message or by contacting us.

If you do not provide information that is reasonably required, we may be unable to respond to your request or fulfil an order or booking. Where appropriate, we will explain why information is being collected and how it will be used, including through a short notice on any future form.

Sensitive Information

Sensitive Information includes health information. We do not seek Sensitive Information through the current informational website. If you provide allergy, intolerance, dietary or other health-related information in a future order or message, we will use it only to respond to your request, fulfil the order, manage food safety or handle a related issue. We collect Sensitive Information with your consent where it is reasonably necessary, or where collection is otherwise permitted or required by law. We do not use health information for marketing.

Third Parties

Where reasonable and practicable, we collect Personal Information directly from you. We may also receive information from a third-party service you choose to use, such as an ordering, booking, delivery, payment or social media platform. Those services also handle information under their own privacy policies.

Our website may contain links to or embedded content from third parties. When you load that content or follow a link, the third party may collect technical information directly from your browser or device.

Disclosure of Personal Information

We may disclose Personal Information where reasonably necessary to operate the business or provide a requested service. This may include disclosure to Cove personnel and contractors; website hosting, security, IT, email or form providers; ordering, booking, delivery and payment providers; professional advisers; regulators or law enforcement; and other parties with your consent or where permitted or required by law.

Some third-party services operate globally, so Personal Information or technical data may be processed outside Australia. The locations depend on the providers in use and may be described in their privacy policies. Where Australian privacy law applies, we will take the steps required by that law.

Security of Personal Information

We take reasonable steps appropriate to the information and our operations to protect Personal Information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No internet or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep Personal Information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected and any related legal, accounting, tax, safety or record-keeping requirement. When it is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete it or de-identify it.

Access to your Personal Information

You may ask to access the Personal Information we hold about you or request a correction. Please contact us in writing using the details below. We may ask for reasonable proof of identity before providing access or making a correction.

We do not charge a fee for making a request. If the law permits us to charge a reasonable cost for providing access, we will explain that cost before proceeding. If we cannot provide access or make a requested correction, we will explain why where the law requires or permits us to do so.

Maintaining the Quality of your Personal Information

We take reasonable steps to keep Personal Information accurate, complete and up to date. If you believe information we hold about you is inaccurate or out of date, please contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, correct it.

Policy Updates

This policy may change when our website, service providers or information-handling practices change. The current version will be available on our website with its effective date.

Privacy Policy Complaints and Enquiries

If you have a question or believe we have mishandled your Personal Information, please contact us and explain the issue and the outcome you are seeking. We will consider the matter fairly and aim to respond within a reasonable period.

If you are not satisfied with our response and the Privacy Act applies, you may be eligible to complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au/privacy/privacy-complaints.
